A Lot of Zeroes
A downloadable game
Terawatt thrusters developed during the exoglobalization era are capable of crossing the incredible distance between the stars, but it isn't until the futures era that the decades long fueling processes are completed to launch these journeys. The first interstellar crews sent out on these star ships will likely die en route to even the nearest stars to us: either of old age or killed by the effects of interstellar radiation, on board accidents, mutinous colleagues or grey goo.
Rather than condemn yourself to suffer a similar fate, you will adopt a lifestyle to survive the rigors of multiple long interstellar voyages. A lifestyle reflects the extreme steps needed to achieve immortality, giving you a life span of 750 years or longer in a way that also minimizes the risk of accidental death from a space faring lifestyle. There are many different lifestyles, from robots who deliberately erase their memories or young brains who spend almost all of their lives in suspended animation to crews who pass their mission goals onto their children, achieving in their legacy what they couldn't do in their own lifetimes.
And unless you are at the wave front of the first expansion and never look back, you will encounter humanity changed in ways you will not recognize, building megastructures to house secrets, evolving and going extinct, driven by biological processes and galactic politics beyond the scale of a single lifespan. You will explore alien worlds and reach the galactic core and emerge to find extraterrestrial civilizations beyond it, unless there is a Great Filter that has prevented anyone except humanity from reaching the stars. And at the end of it all, you will find answers to the most important questions that enable you to ascend beyond what any other species is capable of.
A Lot of Zeroes is a 206 page supplement for the Sixty Years In Space TTRPG. It includes Star and Solar System, World, Life, Megastructure and Virch designers to populate the rest of the Milky Way with answers to the ultimate questions about life, physics and computation.
IMPORTANT: If you have already backed 60 Years in Space at $50 USD or more you will already own a copy of A Lot of Zeroes and do not need to purchase it here again.
